B5 – Artist Conversation – UMA

The exhibition that was witnessed by my eyes was in the UMA. The exhibition was called “Call and Response”. The art pieces that were presented in the gallery demonstrated the relationship of pop culture and the social inequalities. The art pieces were colored in black and white as a man seem as if he was struggling by carrying some sorta of weight. This art piece could demonstrates the inequalities and difficulties one may face due to their race or color. There were also art piece that revealed the ingredients that existed in the creation of meth. Most of the ingredient were categorize and ordered by number to indicate the process and steps to creating meth. Seeing the different meanings behind each art piece really fascinated me and caught my attention. The power of art allows one to dictate the image’s message and story through colors and lines.
